Visual motor motility and endurance are developed through the use of specialized computers and optical devices, including therapeutic lenses, prisms and filters. During the final stages of treatment, the newly acquired visual skills of the patient are reinforced and automated by the repetition and integration of motor and cognitive skills.
Comprehensive services range from assessment and prescription of low vision devices (such as loupes to help visually impaired patients to read again) to social, educational and vocational rehabilitation, training or retraining of visually impaired patients. . and blindness at the highest possible level of functional ability. These activities are not limited to our center; those in the community who cannot access these services are rehabilitated through community-based rehabilitation services.
